Bugs, Butterflies and Birds
The birds are chirping and the bees are buzzing! Come dig in the garden dirt as we learn how plants grow and what pollinators do. Build a bird nest and find beautiful native butterflies as we explore the Zoo!
Explore our newest exhibit focusing on our natural wonder right here in South Florida. Campers will learn about water conservation, take a crawl in the crocodile tube and meet some of our Everglades animal ambassadors up close and personal!
Learn about solar energy and how important our sun is to all life on our planet! Campers will meet animals that live in some of the most extreme habitats in the world, deserts! Discover what adaptations animals must have to survive under the blazing sun.
Jump into the pond as we learn all about amphibians! Campers will learn about our FrogWatch Citizen Science program that teaches you how to identify frog calls right in your own backyard! Science made fun with our favorite little green friends!
Get into the springtime fever as we learn all about the animal life cycle. We will meet some adorable baby animals, visit our Wacky barn to hang out with our farm animals and go on an egg hunt with special animal surprises inside!
Week 2: April 17 - 21, 2017
The flowers are in bloom this spring! Campers will explore the parts of a plant, learn about growing our own vegetables in our garden and find some beautiful butterflies around the Zoo! Find out what animals love to eat just their greens!
Go into our newest exhibit, Florida: Mission Everglades and make a new friend with our alligators and other friends that call these wetlands home. Learn about water conservation and what you can do to help restore this precious ecosystem right here in our backyard.
Learn what is making our planet heat up and meet the animals most affected by these changes. Have fun while exploring ways to reduce your carbon footprint!
Fun in the Field
Become scientists for the day as we learn about field work and put our skills to the test! Observe our animals, collect samples and dive into a bug hunt as we document the different species we find around the Zoo!
Who doesn’t love baby animals? Our campers will get an up close look at whose being born around the Zoo this spring! Learn about the life cycle and meet the cutest members of our Zoo collection.
Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Morning and afternoon snacks provided. Campers must bring their own lunches with beverages from home. Programs are subject to change.
