“SAVAGE: Art made by Animals for Animals” is an art show featuring a collection of works created by the animals at Zoo Miami and their stewards. The show explores several themes, the first being the immediate relationship between each animal and its’ human trainer/keeper. It also offers viewers a new way to experience the majesty of animals through motion and texture, as they express themselves through various media. This event is a collaborative fundraiser between Zoo Miami, Zoo Miami Foundation, and the South Florida Chapter of the American Association of Zookeepers. All proceeds from the art show will go towards supporting species conservation and research both locally and internationally.
Habitats and species are under tremendous pressures from our rapidly changing world. Our animal residents of Zoo Miami serve as ambassadors to their wild counterparts, and this event offers a unique and different way for supporters to help. Together with our partners, we are determined to do everything we can to help ensure that future generations have the opportunity to see the same marvels of the world that we have been privileged to cherish.
